Trista and I first met four years ago at her best friend’s Jessica + Mike’s wedding. Fast forward, three and a half years later, Dan and Trista are now engaged and I was one of the first calls they made. Dan called me in mid April of 2013. Typically, by this time I have very few, if any dates left for that year. But Dan said “she has to have you, what dates DO you have?” When a couple has that kind of enthusiasm about you and your work, how can you say no? So I gave them a couple of Sunday options and about a week later, it was official. I’d be photographing their wedding in Orange County! And what an incredible wedding it was to be a part of. Trista + Dan, how do I put these two into words? They are amazing. AMAZING! Dan is charismatic and witty and Trista has this sweet, captivating charm with just the right amount of sass! They have a love that is so apparent simply from the way they look at one another. Words cannot even begin to adequately express the magnitude of emotions that I encountered while witnessing these two marry. It’s weddings like this that truly make me aware of just how fortunate I am to be part of such a profound thing, for such an incredible couple. I admire these two so much and am truly grateful to have been part of their very intimate destination wedding at the St. Regis hotel in Dana Point. I am fortunate for their authenticity and extreme trust and creative freedom throughout the process! And finally, I am lucky to call them friends.
