Hello! We are Kara Reichart and Jessica VanTassel, the lead shooters of Stout Studios and we are excited you’re considering us! We have a deep passion for the fleeting moment. We are drawn to love, laughter, energy and light. We strongly believe in honest photography and understand it is our responsibility to document your story, without becoming part of the story. Photography is an extension of our hearts and minds and we simply couldn’t imagine life without a camera.
Kara is a graduate of the prestigious SCAD university with a degree in photography and collectively we have been photographing weddings since 2005. We are honored you’re considering us to document your wedding or portrait session. We are looking forward to talking more with you!

Emily + Justin are sincere, authentic, genuine and an absolute blast! We photographed their wedding at The Clay Theatre which is an absolutely incredible, modern and unique new venue in the Jacksonville area. There is nothing else like it. Every detail of Clay Theatre was clearly handpicked and is perfectly cohesive. Emily + Justin’s wedding... View All Images
Our very first session back after the shutdown was so special. Matthew + Courtney are engaged and I was thrilled to photograph their session last night at one of our favorite locations in Jacksonville.

My husband and I are not huge fans of taking photos, but Jessica made our experience so much fun and produced unbelievable pictures. My husband and I owe Jessica a million thanks not only for our photos, but also for allowing us to truly have the time to enjoy our wedding! We decided to do a first look, which meant all we had were family photos to complete during cocktail hour. No lie...our family photos (not a small family either) were done in 10 minutes (and looked great)! Hence, because of Jessica, we were able to greet all our guests during happy hour and actually party during the reception.

I will rave for years about the quality of work Jessica provides. Her photos will bring you to tears and make you smile from ear to ear at the same time. Thanks to her, my wife and I will be able to look back and relive our wedding day for the rest of our lives. She is very professional and experienced in not only the photography field, but being able to keep your wedding day on schedule. Jess is great with families, kids and all around a great guest to have in attendance.

Throughout the entire process (planning, arriving, pre-wedding photography, the main event, and then follow-up) Jess has been a dream. She has an eye for capturing special, candid moments, as well as a rare ability to frame posed photographs in a natural way. The most difficult part of having Jess as a photographer was, without a doubt, narrowing down our selection of photographs for our album; there are just so many beautiful photos! Beyond her talent and artistry, Jess is professional, personable, and fun to be around. She slipped into our wedding events with ease and grace and felt like a natural guest.
