How do you describe your style?
Simply put, a blend of many. Most often we describe our style as creative documentary. What we want most for your wedding images, is that they be an authentic representation of your day. You’ll never hear us ask you to pretend for your photos; real moments should be just that and we promise not to interfere. With that said, you can expect an abundance of direction when we are creating portraits. Additionally, we will provide you with the expected and necessary traditional shots you (and your parents) will inevitably want to have!
Will you do posed family photos?
Of course! We will collect a list of your requested group photos 45 days before the wedding. We work efficiently to ensure you and your family will be on your way to the reception quickly.
Should I send you a shot list?
Over the past 10 years, we have photographed hundreds of weddings. Over time, we’ve developed a very thorough understanding of what images are essential. We’ll be sure to document all the big moments, the little ones, the details, and everything in between. You can rest assured we will document everything you expect to see and even what you don’t. With the exception of a list of your desired family group shots, we’ve got it covered!
We’re not models, we don’t know how to look for the camera?
Not to worry, neither is 99.9% of the couples we photograph. The good news is that we’re here to help. We will give you an abundance of very specific direction. You won’t be left feeling awkward, in fact, you’ll likely feel as though you are a model after-all!
Do you travel?
We do! We are fortunate to have documented weddings all over the world, including Mexico, St. Lucia, The Virgin Islands, Italy, Greece, and of course several destinations throughout the United States such as California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York, Chicago and Hawaii. Our fees for destination weddings are very simple. Package price + travel + accommodations. Please get in touch to talk more about these options.
Where are you based?
In 2013 Jessica became engaged to her childhood penpal, Eric and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida from Sacramento, California. In 2017 after growing and establishing as a multi-shooter studio, we changed our name to Stout Studios. Jessica still spends several weeks per year photographing families and a handful of weddings in California each year.
What equipment do you have?
Top of the line Nikon camera bodies and lenses and an abundance of flash options.
What is your turn-around time?
We want your images to be polished and the absolute best they can be! With that in mind, we ask for 4-6 weeks to complete the editing process of your complete collection of images. We will however be sending you a small preview a few weeks after the wedding. You can also expect at least one image to be shared on our social media just a few days after the wedding!
Do I need two photographers at my wedding?
You may not need two photographers. Some smaller weddings can be documented with just one, however, we feel it helps us to take more risks creatively and for that reason, we photograph all weddings with two.
what do you require to proceed?
Simply complete the contact form with some information about yourself and the wedding (the more the better). I’ll respond with our availability and chat a bit more about your hopes for your wedding photography. If you decide you’d like to move forward a contract and first payment of ($1500) is required to reserve your date.
