Ariel and Hilary hired me for their wedding months before I ever had the chance to meet them. Just a couple months before their wedding, the three of us had coffee together and they shared their story with me. I got chills. My body literally had a physical reaction listening to them talk about their journey. They are incredible together and anyone who’s able to witness this kind of love is experiencing something profound.
Ariel’s father spoke at their wedding about the moment he learned they were a couple. “Dad, I have something to tell you, Hilary and I, we are a thing” Ariel explained to her father. His response “So?…are you happy?” he asked. “Yes, yes Dad, we are!” And that was that. I look forward to a day when talking about same-sex marriage seems irrelevant and even silly to mention. I can’t wait for it to just be a matter of fact. For now though, it is still relevant and it’s my hope that if there’s any opposers of same-sex marriage reading this, that you might feel differently after viewing their images. Because this, THIS is what love looks like. It is impossible to look at Hilary and Ariels wedding and not feel overwhelmed.
