It’s a dime a dozen as a photographer to find a couple that leaves such a mark on you that there’s hardly enough time, or words, to describe everything that’s amazing about them! Over the weekend Chris and I traveled to The Brice Hotel in Savannah, Georgia to document their day and I couldn’t be happier with how the entire day would unfold! I knew from the moment we met over cocktails, at a swanky restaurant in San Marco, I would instantly have a connection with these two. Not to mention the fact that their dog Skeeter tagged along and anyone that knows me understands that a dog is definitely the way to my heart! Jessie + Clay have been sweethearts for years, the love between these two is so profound and sweet. They’ve been with each other through thick and thin, even through putting off their first engagement. Even considering that, it was clear there was nothing that could keep them apart. Jessie + Clay chose to have a small, intimate wedding in Savannah, Georgia, including all of their closest family and friends. From an outsiders perspective it genuinely seemed like everyone was family and even we were accepted in and treated just the same. I have so many favorite moments from their day, I don’t even know where to begin! It started early when Jessie had a first look with her brother. Watching these two fawn over each other with the biggest of smiles and eyes full of tears, I knew this was going to be a great start to a perfectly emotional day! Another one of my favorite moments was during the ceremony as Jessie + Clay exchanged vows. It was so fun to watch them interact with their guests as they stood in front of them proclaiming their love. I’ve never seen a ceremony move from laughter to tears, tears back to laughter, and so on, so many times in a row! One instance in particular was when Clay addressed Jessie at the beginning of his vows. Instead of using Jessie’s full name he mistakenly used his best man’s full name, who is also named Jessie! Clay, Jessie and best man Jessie all broke out in laughter along with their guests. I love that this sort of broke up the seriousness from Jessie’s vows and reminded everyone how silly they are! I feel so lucky to have been able to be a part of their day and that they put their trust in me to document it. I can’t wait to see what these two conquer as a married couple, I just know their off to conquer the world!
