Allie + Russell’s wedding at The Lightner Museum in St Augustine was a wedding for the books! These two and all their family and friends traveled from all over the US to witness Allie + Russell’s exchanging of vows. When we met several months ago I know we were a match made in heaven! They described their wedding as one huge party, said they didn’t take themselves too seriously and just simply wanted to have a good time. I could not agree more as this is exactly how their wedding laid out, one giant party! Not to mention the fact that Allie was described several times as being an “explosion of glitter” with every path she crossed! I had so many favorite moments during their day, almost too many to mention. But for me, it all started during their ceremony. A beautiful display of their family members standing by their sides as they exchange heart felt vows, you could have actually grabbed the love with your hands. Allie’s grandfather was then asked to come up and pray over Allie + Russell’s marriage. Little did we know he had a lot of wisdom and heartfelt words to say. While photographing the scene I noticed Allie’s brother and sister giggling among themselves, then switch to Allie + Russell who, likewise, we’re giggling with each other. I loved this little exchange between them as it was just a reminder that they didn’t take themselves too seriously and could enjoy a good laugh even in the most serious moments. Later we found out that grandpa is known for his elaborate, long winded prayers and it was totally expected that he would bring one to the table during the ceremony!!
Fast forward to Allie + Russells reception, I’ve never seen a group of people dance so hard; describing their reception as a huge party would be an understatement! One of my favorite moments was ending their night with a bubble exit shortly after introducing several hundred Taco Bell taco’s. Not only did Allie + Russell dig in with their guests, sipping on their Baja Blasts, I was overjoyed to see that Allie exited their reception, taco in hand! I’ve never seen such a perfect visual representation of just how cool and down to earth a coupe has been! Congrats you two, I know you’re going to take over the world!
