As I begin to write a little about Missy + Matt, my heart is completely full. I can say with absolutely sincerity that I have never met anyone like Missy + Matt. They are two of the most unique people who share very similar hearts; it is the epitome of serendipity that these two found one another. Before we get into how the two became a couple, first let me tell you a little about Missy. This girl has got the most pure and genuine heart, the brightest smile and is simply one of the kindest people I have ever met. Every time I would communicate with Missy I would find myself asking, is this girl real? Can someone really be THAT nice, and she absolutely is. She is also wildly talented, a poet, a collegiate athlete, well traveled, adventurous, crazy smart and to top it all off, this girl loves Matt so deep and so profoundly, I wonder how she has room for anything else in heart than him.
Now Missy wasn’t always sure that Matt was the one for her. They met while attending Sac State, Missy was on the soccer team and asked Matt if he might help her with some extra practice. Matt, already smitten with Missy happily agreed. The two began dating and shortly there after, Missy decided she would study in Austrailia, thousands upon thousands of miles from Matt. Matt encouraged her to go and told her he would wait for her. Missy wasn’t as sure. Shortly after she’d settled in Australia (and was feeling rather home-sick) Matt surprised Missy with a visit and it was about then she knew she was in love. The two dated long-distance and Matt was always there for her, waking up in the middle of the night for skype dates + encouraging her to stick with it when she wanted to come home. I think Matt demonstrated a love and support for Missy that is so selfless and so rare. He knew how he felt about her with such certainty, he was patient, supportive and knew in his heart that one day they’d have their happy ever-after. And they did.
Missy and Matt married at the Monte Verde Inn in June. The day was so full. Full of happiness, full of love. It was just a very special day. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many smiling faces at a wedding. It was truly perfect.
Missy and Matt, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your day with us! It has truly been a pleasure getting to know the two of you and I am happy to call you friends! I’m so thrilled for the both of you! Congrats!
