Karmen + Joel

As with most couples, before I ever met Karmen, we’d already exchanged several emails. I knew that this was a really special girl, she was spunky and witty and I knew right away I was going to just adore her. I learned that because Joel is an officer in the Navy, they, like Eric and I, have endured a long-distance relationship of east cost boy and west coast girl. We shared our despise for humidity and long flights just as much as we shared our admiration for southern hospitality and food. Joel is an Officer in the Navy and When I finally got to meet Joel and Karmen, it was in Savannah, Georgia for their engagement session and my suspicions were right. Karmen is the kind of girl who touches your face or hand as she talks to you. She exudes warmth and sincerity. She is passionate about life and the people she loves. Joel is as strong as he is kind. He is somewhat quiet, yet he is a riot all at once.

Their wedding week was very special for them, as it was the longest amount of time they’d been able to spend together since they began dating. Following the wedding, Joel and Karmen had just two weeks together before he deployed for a 9-month tour of duty. Needless to say, Joel and Karmen truly cherished every moment of their wedding day. There was a profound sense of celebration and happiness shared between them, their friends and family and it was so special to be a part of their day
