I find life is full of what-if’s. How greatly the choices we make and circumstances shape our lives, without us even knowing it. Jessica and Derek’s journey was definitely a sequence of choices and circumstances that led them to one another. The butterfly effect. Derek’s work requires him to travel and on this particular flight, he was moved from coach to first class due to some problematic seating arrangements. It was in first class he met Sharon, Jessica’s Aunt. Now, Derek could have chosen to put on his head phones, read a book or what have you, but instead, he made conversation with Sharon. No surprise there, Derek is outgoing, fun, and easy to talk to. After sharing a plane ride together, Sharon determined that Derek should meet her niece Jessica…that they might like one another. She was right. What if Derek hadn’t selected that particular flight? What if he hadn’t been moved to first class? What if he chose to read a book? Call it fate or serendipity. Jessica and Derek were meant to meet and spend their lives together.
