Engagement Sessions in Jacksonville

Why?

The session is great for us to have the opportunity to get to know one another better, not only as people but also as subjects. It is helpful for me to establish a trust and comfort level for you in front of the camera and we like you to see how we work behind it!

Where?

We have a wide range of options for engagement sessions in Jacksonville! Maybe you want a downtown vibe or perhaps you’re looking for a natural setting or the beach, we’ve truly got it all. Take a peak at all the locations and samples from each by clicking HERE

When?

You likely noticed in the pricing menu and in your contract, as wedding photographers, it is very difficult and sometimes just not possible for us to do your session on a weekend. Sessions are scheduled Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs either at sunrise or 1 hour prior to sundown. They are scheduled at this time to allow for the best light possible. If you absolutely must have your session on a weekend, we will do our best to give you some options for that. You can add the weekend session fee here

Because the rainy season often brings showers in the evening, we strongly recommend sessions be scheduled October-May to avoid a higher risk of rescheduling due to inclement weather. We will reschedule if the forecast calls for 40% chance of rain or higher 24 hours prior to your session.

Scheduling.

Most sessions are scheduled 4-8 weeks in advance. Spring and Fall are particularly popular and book up quickly. If you would like a Spring or Fall engagement session please contact me as soon as possible. Please note that summer sessions are not recommended due to the high humidity and likelihood of rain.

Wardrobe.

Please review the style guide and read this for some tips here for what to wear. We highly recommend just one outfit as the session is 45 minutes long and it’s best to maximize our time shooting.

Weather + Rain Plan.

You will likely put a lot of planning into your session, which may include scheduling professional hair and makeup, requesting time off of work, perhaps you are even coming in from out of town. For this reason, we find it is more stressful for the couple to decide on a rain plan the day before/or of, than it is to decide in advance what the best plan of action for them is. If the forecast calls for 40% chance of rain or higher at 7am the day of your session if scheduled for the evening OR at 5pm the day before if scheduled for sunrise, we will default to your pre-selected rain plan. Below are the rain plans to choose from

1. Reschedule and try for another date.2. Proceed with the session outside near the St. John’s river front, where the Riverside Art Market is held (There is a covered overpass) With this option, it would be understood the session would be limited creatively. We will bring a couple of umbrellas for some shots in the rain! This option might be ideal for a couple who doesn’t have the option to reschedule due to their work schedule, because they are a destination client, or simply because the couple really prefers not to wait for another date.

3. Proceed with the session at Brick + Beam (click here to view space) This space is beautiful, climate controlled and allows for beautiful portraits indoors. This option might be ideal for a couple who doesn’t have the option to reschedule due to their work schedule, because they are a destination client, or simply because the couple really prefers not to wait for another date. Please note, this option requires a $150 usage fee to be paid directly to the venue in cash at the start of the session.
